Ionic Bonding: The electrostatic bond between two ions formed through the transfer of one or more electrons
About Ionic Bonding
Ionic Bonding is the attraction between two oppositely charged ions. Also, ionic bonds form a result of the attraction between positive and negative ions. Ionic bonds are attracted. An example is, sodium loses an electron, it becomes a positively charged ion. When on the other hand, chlorine gains an electron, and becomes negative. ( An easy way to remember this is to think about that, is to think you lose one it makes you positive. You gain one, it makes you negative.)
